Weekly Update 7/27/15

Another day, another dollar!

Well what a good week. Just all around it was solid! Had a lot of ups and not a lot of downs! The highlight of course being we got to go to the temple on Friday! There is nothing like waking up early to go to the House of God. What makes it more special is that it's all missionaries who take part. The spirit is there, and I had a very good time! The cares of the world just seem to melt away as you enter that sacred edifice! It's a blessing to have a temple in my area, and it was a huge one to be able to go! My soul was touched and I know that the temples are the house of God!

So other things happened other then the temple this week! Haha that was just kinda the climax! I'll go through some of the other major things that impacted our area! The first one being WERE HAVING A BAPTISM NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAHOOOOOOOOO This young mans name is Scott. He is the man! And I love him! He's been taught by missionaries for a couple months now. He has an interesting story. The reason he started to investigate the church is cause he thought he could prove it wrong. Well after literally hundreds, maybe almost thousands of hours of research, he can't. The saying, "if yah can't beat'em join'em" rings true. He has been changed and this week he had his baptismal interview. And he passed, we got the Okay from the mission presidency to continue with his baptism! What a miracle! He is awesome and I seriously cannot wait for this guy. I've been working with him for a while now and I really went to battle for him! So now that he's getting baptized I'm ecstatic!!! His search just started as an honest search for truth and now he's found it! Haha

Another cool thing that happened is I went on an exchange with Elder Yates who is one of the new zone leaders in my zone! He is a great guy! We had way to much fun! He's from Michigan, and he's way funny! He's kinda quiet, but it's quiet confidence! He's a track athlete as well, so that was fun! We had a very good time and taught a couple of cool people! We went to the notorious "Walk" at the college program housing down at Disney! We contacted for 3 hours and had so much fun doing it! Elder Tucker (he used to serve in my area) one of the AP's told me that you just need to put all your fears on the alter of sacrifice and just go for it! Haha so that's exactly what we did! We went hard and talked to a lot of Asians and French people. Met a crazy atheist and helped Chinese peeps take their groceries to their houses! #goaboutdoinggood We had a good night too! I learned some good things from Elder Yates!

So another crazy thing is in my district meeting this week the assistants to the president randomly just appeared. We call them the AP's and mission president calls them to help him run the mission. So in a way these guys are my bosses, Since I'm the district leader. I love them though! Elders Tucker and Langsten! Both very funny dudes! So it was fun having them! I just hate when they magically pop in! Hahaha But I had a very good district meeting! They said it went great and that I gave a great training! So that's good. Glad I didn't blow it! Haha

So this weeks funny story. On Friday night Elder Hoskin and I were out walking in apartment complex. This guy yells down to us from a second story porch and asks us if we do real estate. Well I am not smart enough for that stuff! Haha but we start talking to him! So we went up there and well he was a little cra cra. Well this dude just rolls a joint and starts just getting high right in front of us!!! Hahaha It was so Funny! He was like "Guys I'm way to high to comprehend anything Ya'll are saying...." We were trying to be simple too! It was crazy! He also had like three 100 dollar bills! So he may have been a drug dealer! Haha It just kinda showed me how weed can mess with yah! This guy was just too far gone for anything. And I'm not sure if he'll really get anywhere in life. Kinda sad, but we did what we could to help!

So that was my week and some highlights. It was a good week! We saw some other cool miracles on a daily basis, but it would take to long to go through them! Elder Hoskin and I have been working really really hard. I've been trying to improve every day. That's all that matters. My mommy sent me a quote that I love. Small daily improvements are the key to long term success! That's what I'm shooting for! This church is true. I've truly felt it, it's more then just in my own mind, more than any thing else. More then a placebo effect, I know that God is real. With the blessing abounding all around, really what other proof would yah need? This church is true, whether or not we fully understand what that means it matters not. All that does matter is that it's true! A person giving a talk yesterday said something that has stuck with me. She said "It's true isn't it? Then what else matters?" It's true and by being a full faith member, you will find more happiness then any where else! If any one has questions please ask! It's what I do! I hope you all enjoyed my email! And I hope you all have a great week!

Love, Elder Crismon,

Weekly Update 7/20/15

Das week............

So this tweet was pretty dang good!!! A week ago I was pretty stressed out, getting ready to take over only after six weeks. Plus this area is huge! But God be thanked I made it! Hahaha and we had a good week! Everything was looking good! I also got to do some really cool things this week!!
Like a baptismal interview and also I got to sing at a fireside (in a choir luckily) haha It was a good week! We also had three investigators come to sacrament meeting!!!!!!!!!!! WAHOOOOOOO that's a miracle for the books!!! Like finally it feels I've been trying to do that forever! Anyways so here are some highlights.

So one of the most, well probably the most important thing, that I will do as a district leader is do a baptismal interview! This week I got to do my second one! It was a super cool experience! The guy's name was Justin and a companionship in my stewardship had been teaching him! It was a really cool and spiritual experience. I got to talk to him about his conversion and why he wanted to be baptized! It was an honor to be able to do it! He was ready to be baptized and will be baptized here very soon! In the interview we just make sure they are doing this for the right reasons and that they are truly prepared to make a covenant with God. Hopefully I'll be able to more of those real soon!! What a good time it was!

So I also got to sing at a fireside this week! It was called the "Why I believe fireside" Haha But it was a really great experience! We sang "I need thee every hour"! It was lots of fun! And President Barry got to watch us all sing! Hopefully we didn't blow it too bad! Haha But I think it was a good performance! The fireside was great! We had two investigators go! They both loved it! Ones name is Vaughn, he's a great guy! He's really interested now! He actually wants to go to BYU now! Hahahahaha and he thinks Taysom Hill will win the Heisman this year! Hahaha Also his favorite song is "Praise to the man"! Hahaa It's so funny! But he loves the church and may get baptized! So pray for this little feller!

So the wait is over, my new comp is Elder Hoskin! He is from Washington state! A small little town called Roshchester! South of Olympia! He's a great guy! He's been out for 9 months now. So I'm finally older then my comp!!! WAHOOOOOOO He was pretty culture shocked when he got to YSA. Before he was out in the sticks in LaCanto!! Which is a very small town!! Haha He's a good guy and he's also very country! He owns a couple belt Buckles! Hahaha Pretty crazy! But we get along pretty well! And I think we are gonna do some great work together! So that's awesome!

Well that's my week in a nutshell! Our zone leaders paid me a very nice compliment this morning! They told me I was a great leader and that they have seen a night and day difference in my area and in my district! How great is that! I seriously was so happy I almost cried!! Hhahaha But that's good! I'm doing well! Thank you for all the support and love I feel! I'm sorry if I don't email back as often as I should! I'm recommitting my self to do better! I hope y'all have a great week! Love you!!

Love, Elder Crismon!!

Weekly Update 7/13/15

Weekly update!!

So this week was a good week!! We worked hard this week again. Our district did amazing- Which I'm super excited about! In our area we went hard again as well. For all of you who are wondering I will be staying in this area another transfer as the district leader. Which I absolutely love. I'm very grateful for the chance I have to be able to stay! This area is the best!!

So this week we taught a lot again. That seems to be the theme for us in this area. The only thing that we seem to be really struggling with is getting people to church. That is very hard, but we have plans in place that is going to help with that this week! This week will be crazy because I will be taking over. The new guy will not know anything, so it will be completely up to me to get stuff done. Which is nice, but at the same time it's very stressful, considering I already have to deal with the district!

The district nailed it this week. Like seriously I like cried when I saw how well they did across the board. Very grateful! We did the best in the zone, in almost every major statistical category. Which is pretty big, the Lord is really blessing us here in the Bueno Vista district! We just gotta find a way to keep that rolling into the next transfer, that may prove to be easier said then done! But with faith all things are possible right?

Funny story for the week...l. Hmmmmmmmmm well every night we do what are called "call-ins". That's just when I call all the companionships in my district. Just to see how they are doing! And at the end I always ask if there is anything that I can do for them! Well one companionship asked if I could tell them a story involving pencils. Well needless to say to told an eloquent story about 3 pencils and a marker. One was a colored pencil..... #LOL..... He was Tyrone! Haha But they loved it and it was probably one of the better stories that I have ever told! Haha

Sorry this is going to be a shorter email then I usually do. This week and day is proving to be pretty crazy. But I promise to do better next week!!! I'm excited to see what this next transfer has in store, if everything goes right then possibly it could have up to 4 baptisms. That's what our goal will be, and that is what we will hit. I would ask that you all pray extra hard for me now as I take over and try to lead this district to greatness!!!! This is Gods work, I know it and I know that God knows it!! I wish you all the best of luck on this next week!!!!!

Love, Elder Crismon!!!

Weekly Update 7/6/15

Weekly update............

Well again this week was spectacular to say the least. We put a lot of hard work in, a lot! We also taught a crap ton of people. Also we got to go on exchanges with the lovely assistants. Which was an absolute party. Got to see some of my converts in the Hunters Creek ward! The district did well! But of course as usual they have room to improve! Had a killer ZTM, and really got motivated to keep it going! And to top it off had one of the most memorable 4th of July ever. So I guess we'll just get started!

So to start off this week we topped last weeks performance in lessons taught. We also set two new baptismal dates. The first one was with Scott, for the 26th of July. He's a great guy! Missionaries have been working with him for a while, but he just hasn't been ready. This week we got the go to start teaching him again. And allow him to be baptized! The other was with a guy named Justin! He's a really cool dude, and has some killer questions! He is prepared, and loves the things we've taught him already. His date is for the 16th of August. So a little ways out, but it gives us time to help him progress! We are very excited to see what this next transfer has in store! Since this is the last week of this one! Time flies! We have four weeks in a row with baptisms coming in July and August. Pretty crazy! Now we just have to pray that all goes well!!

Well on Tuesday Elder Lavin and I had the privilege of going on exchanges with the Assistants to the president. Elders Tucker and Call!! Both are outstanding guys! Elder Lavin went with Tucker and I went with call! Elder Call goes home in about a week. He plays football for Dartmouth! He's a beast, and plays o-line! But he's lost weight and will probably play tight-end!! We had way too much fun on our little exchange! We got to go with them because there is only sister missionaries in my district!! So we had ourselves a little party! Hahaha I learned a lot from Elder Call. He's a very good missionary and works very hard! We have a lot in common, like our love for rap! Haha We got to go and see my recent converts the Ford-Whileys!! Well I only saw Sally and David! But it was still a treat to go see them! They are super awesome! It took me back to all of the super awesome miracles that took place back there in the good ol' Hunters Creek with Elder Bagshaw! They are doing great though! It was truly a tender mercy of the Lord to be able to see them! I loved being able to go in an exchange! I really love our beautiful AP's. They are amazing.

So Saturday was, as you all know, the Fourth of July!! What a just freaking great holiday! The best around if you ask me!! Plus people here in Orlando just get turnt on that night! Hahahaha but after Elder Lavin and I had taught 7 lessons in a day, we met up with our beloved zone leaders. Elders Scott and Gooch! Two of the greatest guys of all time! Haha We went to some other missionaries apartment for a little, even though we left before they even got there. They had a perfect view of all the fireworks going on in the Orlando area! Pretty killer! Nevertheless all four of us just turned up, and went ham for about 1 and a half hours! Until about 10:00!! Then we went home cause we couldn't stay out late! We went and got twisty treat at like 9:35 which is super killer ice cream! I love our zone leaders and it was definitely a tender mercy to just get to hang out with them! I really do look up to them!

Funny story, so this week we went to Lowes on a surprise visit to a recent convert who works there named Uno. Well as we were talking with him he had to do something. Cause he's the manager! Well this guy standing behind us looks at my companion Elder Lavin on the face and says-"You have beautiful eyes....." Hahahahahahahahahahahahhaahhaha probably the most awkward thing of my life. Hahahaha I seriously just cracked up right there, in Lowes, in the plant section! As it turns out this guy is pretty dope. So we had a good conversation. But what he said was seriously pretty freaking funny!

Well there was my week in a nut shell!! Seriously a lot happened. But I highlighted the good things! I love my mission! And I love this church, and most importantly I love the Lord Jesus Christ! There is not a day that goes by that he doesn't help me overcome some obstacles! How great is it to know that He's there no matter what. And that through him we can do all things. That is the message of hope that we share, but not only share, but live. This gospel is true, and this church is the only true and living church on the face of the planet! And by living its precepts you can find more peace than anything else! This is what I Know. I wish you all the best of luck on this coming week! I appreciate the love and support, and shortage of letters and mail......... Have a great week everyone!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA

Love, Elder Crismon!!!
